We have booked a holiday to Northern Cyprus departing from Terminal 5 on BA 0664 at 0755 on Wednesday 25th March to Larnaca arriving there at 1435.

The hotel is The Omar Village situated on the outskirts of the Kyrenia mountain range about five minutes drive from the city centre, its unique. 180 degree panoramic view overlooks the Mediterranean coastline and the ancient town of Kyrenia. A relaxing refreshing ambience and traditional hospitality have made the Village a tranquil retreat to relax and an ideal base to tour the area.. The hotel has an indoor and outdoor pool. Day 1 – Upon arrival in Larnaca we will be met by a local guide and transferred across the border to the Onar Village Hotel Kyrenia for check in and dinner this evening. Porterage on arrival and departure day. A welcome drink on arrival, either a local cocktail, brandy sour or a soft drink.

Day 2 – After breakfast we will depart for a visit to the historic old harbour town of Famagusta which boasts the magnificent St Nicholas Cathedral. We’ll also visit the ruins of the Royal Palace built by the Venetians on the ruins of a palace built by the Lusignans in the 13th century and enjoy lunch (included) by the sea before visiting Salamis ruins. This ancient site covers an area of one square mile extending along the sea shore. There will be time to visit St Barnabas Monastery, built to commemorate the foremost Saint of Cyprus. Dinner will be at the hotel this evening.

Day 3 – Today we will be a day at leisure to relax or explore Kyrenia independently. Dinner at the hotel this evening.

Day 4 – Today we’ll visit the Crusader Castle of Buffavento which, at 955m above sea level, stands as the highest of the three Crusader Castles. It is said that the Byzantine King Isaac Commenos fled here when Richard the Lionheart invaded in 1191. We then visit the small and very beautiful Antiphonitis Byazntine Church, with an interior that was once decorated in fine frescoes. The dome, with a fresco of Christ Pantocrator in the centre, is supported by eight pillars and is the only extant example of this style of architecture in Cyprus. We’ll also enjoy a picnic/BBQ lunch with wine (included) . Dinner at the hotel this evening.

Day 5 & 6 – We have two days at leisure to relax or explore Kyrenia independently. Dinner will be at the hotel on both nights.

Day 7 – Today we’ll explore the Karpaz Peninsular. Visiting the Pan Handle we’ll sense its natural beauty and view many spectacular sandy beaches where the turtles breed. Driving through the wild donkey reserve to the tip of the peninsular to view the Apostolos Andreas Monastery. It was once the Lourdes of Cyprus, served not by an organised community of monks but by a changing group of volunteer priests and laymen. We’ll enjoy lunch (included) by the sea and then visit the Roman Basilica of Ayias Trias with its wonderful mosaics. Dinner at the hotel this evening.

Day 8 – after check out of our hotel we transfer by coach across the border back to Larnaca Airport to return on BA 0063 at 1935 arriving back at LHR T5 at 22.30

Breakfast is a buffet and dinner a 3course buffet. Tea and coffee included after dinner.

The cost will be
£875 for members and £885 non/members. Unfortunately a single supplement of £77.00 per person for the duration which will be a double/twin for sole occupancy. This supplement is beyond our control and fixed by the hotel. A deposit of £100 per person is required on booking.

If travel insurance is required this can be done at the time of booking with Success Tours at £52. As we are uncertain whether we will actually be out of the EU by March next year we cannot confirm whether your EHIC (European Health Card) will still be available to UK citizens. Also if we are out of the EU you will need to have more than six months left on your passport.

Currency in Northern Cyprus is not the Euro but the Turkish Lira.
