A two centre holiday has been organised to Croatia and Slovenia. We will be departing LHR Terminal 5 on BA 0848 at 0820 to Zagreb, arriving at 1140 in Zagreb. We return on the BA 0849 at 1235 arriving Terminal 5 at 1405.   

Upon arrival in Croatia we will be met by a local guide and coach to transfer to the hotel.  On arrival we will have a welcome drink followed by dinner. 

Once a fashionable retreat for the wealthy of Vienna, the elegant resort of Opatija is stunningly located overlooking the Kvamer Gulf. This attractive coastal town sits on a narrow strip of land sandwiched between the crystal clear Adriatic Sea and the foothills of the Ucka mountain range  Take a stroll along Opatija’s famous 12km coastal promenade where you will pass many of its shingle beaches, all lined with impressive villas and pretty gardens.  Our hotel here is the Agava Hotel situated in a wonderful old villa in the centre of Opatija in the mediate vicinity of the Anguiolina Park with a magnificent view of Kvarner Bay.  The hotels stylish en-suite rooms come with air conditioning, hairderyer, mini bar, safe and TV.  The hotel has lift access to all floors. 

Day 2 – a full day guided excursion to Movun and the Istrian coast. With its elegant system of towers, walls, gates and Piazzas, the village of Motovun is perched on a hill some 227 m above sea level. Being part of the Venetian empire it is a striking example of Venetian colonial architecture. On the Istrian coastline lies Porec and Rovinj.  Porec is an old town with a master piece of Byzantine art, the Euphrasius Basilica still contains original mosaics and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site,  We continue to Rovinj a typical medieval Venetian town with narrow lanes to explore. Dinner at the hotel. 

Day 3 – today will be at leisure to explore the stunning town of Opatija. Dinner at the hotel. 

Day 4 – Full day guided excursion to Pula. Dotted with Roman ruins, Pula’s most impressive site is the spectacular Roman amphitheatre. We will h ave time at leisure here to explore. Dinner at the hotel. 

Day 5 – this morning after checking out of our hotel we will depart by coach to Lake Bled in Slovenia.  We will be joined by a new guide.  En route we will have the opportunity to experience Slovenia’s capital Ljubijana.  Continue to Lake Bled for check in. Dinner at the hotel . Park Hotel Bled

We will be staying at the 4 star Hotel Park which is an ideal location along the shore of the lake in the centre of the town.  The hotel’s Park Restaurant and Café is the home of the original Bled Cream Cake, the popular dessert for which Bled is renowned.  Each bedroom has a bathroom (walk in shower) and hairdryer, satellite TV safe and mini bar.  Facilities also include a heated indoor thermal pool, pool side bar with panoramic terrace, 3 lifts and free Wifi throughout.  Lake view rooms can be requested at a supplement (these are only available with shower over bath).  Hotel website park. 

Day 6 OPTIONAL EXCURSION (not included) – after breakfast, a morning guided excursion to Bled Island by boat to visit the Church of the Assumption.  Cost for this excursion is $43.  Dinner at the hotel. 

Day 7 – Today will be at leisure to explore the beautiful lakeside resort.  Dinner at the hotel. 

Day 8 – Depart the hotel to return to Zagreb airport homeward bound. 

The price includes return assisted transfers in Croatia and Slovenia. 

4 nights half board accommodation at the Agava Hotel, Opatija, 3 nights half board accommodation at the Park Hotel, Bled, porterage on arrival and departure. 

Welcome drink of local brandy, wine or orange juice on arrival day. 

3 course dinner with 3 choices per course, plus a vegetarian option each evening.  Tea/coffee after dinner.
