We will leave Heston Venue at 0915 to go straight to meet the guide at Polesden Lacery for morning coffee and pastries. Polesden Lacey was the home of one of Edwardian Britain’s richest society hostesses who craved the company of monarchs, maharajahs and millionaires.

During the morning we’ll take a scenic drive via Ranmore Common and the cathedral in the woods to her old lakes of the Surrey Hills as we wend our way to the village of Shere for a 2-course lunch with coffee. Lunch is roast chicken and vegetables followed by apple pie and custard. The vegetarian option is a vegetarian pie similar to a quiche.

You will have free time in Shere which is a lovely timeless village where the Tiling Bourne bubbles and every building is of great age and interest.

In the afternoon we sweep through more photogenic countryside as we head for Box Hill for one of the best views in England and a whole cast of characters including the eccentric Major who was buried upside down at the top of the hill. We will drop back down to Bocketts Farm Park for time to buy tea before heading for home at 1645.
