ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING – 16 JULY 2018

Ted Turner, Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting.

CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

Ted informed the meeting that we are waiting for the Contract back from Imperial College which gives us the use of an office and the use of the Pavilion. We do pay rent to Imperial College and the only way we can continue to do this is through raffle tickets and the lottery.

We have had some lovely holidays this year and he personally thoroughly enjoyed Torquay. Ted said he has been so grateful for the support he has received from RSA members.

The Minutes of the meeting held 16 July 2017 were proposed as a true record by Shirley Jacobs and seconded by Alan Anderson.

There were no matters arising.

There were no Proposals.

TREASURER’S REPORT

Margaret circulated the latest accounts to the meeting and said our balance is continuing to go down. This is mainly due to the rent to Imperial College and the postage.

Margaret asked if there was anything anyone wished to query. Alan Anderson asked how much the rent was and Margaret told him £12,000 per year. He suggested we look at Bedfont Social Club but Margaret pointed out that our rent enables us to keep on the British Airways network and the telephone plus the use of an office. Richard Birch said he wished it recorded that the RSA was doing a good job.
